Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Matric Basic Life Support (BLS) qualification Valid PrDP permit 2 years’ experience in the medical field as a BLS medic Pre-hospital Trauma Life support certification Emergency rescue and stabilization In-depth knowledge of life saving medical procedures Comprehensive understanding of emergency medicine Oral Communication Customer Service Advanced driving Intermediate / pre-hospital trauma care General sick-call procedure Minimum Job Requirements: Ensure patient treatment according to the HPCSA scope of practice, protocols and guidelines Safely drives and operates emergency vehicles and transports patients to hospitals for further care Performs medical assistance for sick and / injured patients Initiates contact, assesses and documents treatment of all patients under care Checks and maintains the ambulance’s emergency equipment Operates various medical equipment and apparatuses appropriate to the scope of practice for BLS Complies with all requirements for training and licensing as defined by the HPCSA and CHG #J-18808-Ljbffr
