About the Position:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traveling Crane Technician to join our clients team. Our client is a recognized worldwide leader in heavy lifting and engineered transport. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical systems, with a proven track record in maintenance and repair of heavy lifting machinery, including cranes and rolling machines. This role requires willingness to travel extensively, including to various countries in Africa such as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, Tanzania, among others. The candidate should also demonstrate proficiency in reading diagnostics, interpreting technical drawings, and fault finding.Minimum Requirements:Red Seal certification or equivalent qualification in relevant trade (e.g., Millwright, Heavy Equipment Technician, etc.)Experience in maintenance and repair of heavy lifting machinery, with a focus on cranes and rolling machinesProficiency in hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair techniquesAbility to travel extensively, including to countries in Africa, and willingness to work in diverse environments and conditionsStrong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholdersExcellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to fault findingFamiliarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manualsExperience in using diagnostic tools and software for equipment analysis and performance monitoringPhysical fitness and manual dexterity to handle heavy equipment components and perform maintenance tasksValid passport, with the ability to travel internationally on short noticeCommitment to upholding safety standards and procedures at all times, prioritizing the well-being of oneself and othersResponsibilities:Conducting regular maintenance and repair work on traveling cranes, rolling machines, and other heavy lifting machineryTroubleshooting hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical issues efficiently to minimize downtimePerforming inspections, diagnosing faults, and implementing corrective actions as per manufacturer guidelines and safety standardsTraveling to client sites, including remote locations within Africa, to provide technical support, maintenance, and repair servicesCollaborating with engineering teams to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and proceduresReading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to understand equipment configurations and operational requirementsUtilizing diagnostic tools and software to analyze equipment performance and identify potential issuesAdhering to health and safety protocols and regulations at all times, both on-site and during travelProviding training and guidance to client personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety practicesMaintaining accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules#J-18808-Ljbffr
