The Senior Technology Engineer (STE) role entails software development duties focusing on researching, implementing, and integrating new technologies into our Client’s applications. Moreover, the STE will contribute to software module development to align with business requirements. As an STE, your role involves collaborating with peers to deliver dynamic customer solutions, leveraging innovative technologies and coding methodologies to maintain our Client’s cutting-edge platform. The ideal candidate should thrive in an independent work environment. Additionally, the STE may be required to support technology colleagues in troubleshooting application issues. Given our commitment to customer satisfaction, effective communication, patience, and a positive demeanour are essential attributes. The STE may participate in Quality Assurance (QA) activities and the release process for new platform functionalities, regardless of whether they developed the code or it originated from another team member. RESPONSIBILITY&DUTY This position is based in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and from time to time may require travel to the Client’s office located in Attleboro, Massachusetts, USA. This role is a full time, in-office role. Flexi hours will be considered to accommodate daily commute. Requirements EDUCATION&EXPERIENCE 10 to 15 years experience working in Software Development or Engineering. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related field of study or equivalent work experience -Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including SQL Server, is preferred but not required. A strong background in FinTech, Channel Financing, and Banking is highly sought. Candidates with experience in these sectors will bring valuable industry-specific insights that are crucial for the development and enhancement of our Client’s platform. JOB SKILLS Key competencies include: Deep Understanding of MSSQL: Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting. Expertise in TSQL: Extensive experience in writing complex TSQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to manipulate and retrieve data efficiently. Database-First Architecture Proficiency: Experience in developing and maintaining applications where the primary architecture is database-first, meaning most of the application logic resides within the SQL database rather than in the application layer. Knowledge of .Net, C#, and Azure Cloud is also important. Demonstration of strong communication and human relations skills. The STE position requires a priority on customer satisfaction. Accepts responsibility for independent decisions and works with minimal supervision. Benefits COMPENSATION The STE is a salaried position working 40 hours. Salary and bonus will be commensurate with experience and subject to company performance, respectively. Details of compensation will be revealed to candidates being invited for an interview.
