Procurement Clerk – Somerset West – Salary: R15,000 – R25,000Are you ready to join an innovative team in the field of electronic and electromagnetic solutions? We're on the lookout for a skilled Procurement Officer to join our dynamic crew.Key Responsibilities and Duties: Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs, ensuring timely and quality delivery. Interpret engineering drawings accurately to determine requirements. Assist in selecting reliable suppliers and contractors, promoting best procurement practices. Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms effectively. Issue purchase orders promptly and monitor fulfillment within agreed timeframes. Proactively communicate any delays or potential issues with relevant stakeholders. Monitor supplier performance and nurture productive relationships. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum National technical certificate (N4) or equivalent diploma. At least 3 years of experience in a procurement or related role. Previous experience in an electronic/mechatronic engineering environment. Candidate Profile: Demonstrated track record of achievement with a balanced approach. Proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership and be accountable. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, adept at prioritizing tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Flexible attitude suitable for an SME environment. Comfortable working in a highly technical setting. Service-oriented mindset towards achieving common goals. Capable of independent problem-solving while fostering teamwork. Goal-oriented and organized team player. Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with procurement processes, policies, and systems. Experience with Xero and ERP/MRP systems advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts/orders.
