The Supervisor Engineering Electrical assumes accountability for the overall safe and efficient operation of the electrical section covering the shaft electrical reticulation, conveyor belt systems and solar plant. The role leads and controls the electrical operations in accordance with safety standards and procedures to ensure the elimination of production delays and safety risks to personnel. A core accountability of the role is to maintain the highest possible safety standards in the area of operation and influence Minimum Requirements:Grade 12 or equivalentRelevant Recognised Trade CertificateMinimum of 5 years experience as an Electrician in underground mining, shaft conveyor and reticulation systemsRecognized approved Medium Voltage CertificateBe declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicants suitability for employment Key Competencies:Intermediate operational safety experience with sound appreciation for safety standards and record managementGood communication, interpersonal and team leadership skillsKnowledge of relevant mining legislation, with emphasis on Electrical RegulationsProven organisation skills - planning, organising, leading, and controlling Proven proficiency in technical problem solvingProven track record in maintaining LT and HT reticulation systems, surface and underground substations, underground and surface conveyor belt systems and spillage winch arrangements sectionsComputer literacy with basic MS Office proficiencyWorking knowledge of SAPAbility to manage, control and input into the financial budget of the responsible section Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure implementation and adherence to the Mine Health & Safety Act and Environmental COPs, policies, procedures and legal requirements within the area of responsibilityMaintain and manage health and safety policies, standards, and procedure for section and area of responsibilityConvene and participate in sectional health and safety meetings, forums, and campaignsManage operational risk with the section or area of responsibility and evaluate and monitor compliance to codes of practiceAccountable for legal compliance as the Regulation 2.9.2 appointee for the area of responsibilityManage key performance areas of subordinates and ensure subordinates are adequately trained to perform their dutiesPlan and execute maintenance and repair activities safely and timeously and ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance targets are metManage electrical construction or maintenance workEnsure ordering of equipment and availability of critical sparesConduct formal Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to ensure equipment reliabilityManage and control spares inventory including the placing and follow-up of ordersInput into, formulate and manage annual budgets for the sectionPerform all duties relevant to the position, including standby, overtime and call-outs
