Cloud Engineer FinOps (POS24158)Rivonia, SandtonR 950 000 per annumJob PurposeThe Cloud Engineer FinOps will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of cloud computing, including cost optimization, cost allocation, and reporting. The ideal candidate should have experience with Native Azure services and FinOps, as well as insight into cloud Compute, storage, backups, infrastructure as code, cloud automation, DevOps, and Terraform. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in Engineering, Finance, Product, etc. to enable faster product delivery while gaining more financial control and predictability.Minimum Experience LevelBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field3+ years of experience in cloud computing, with a focus on FinOps and Native Azure services2 years in FinOps experience1-2 years Operational experience with Cloud Services1-2 years experience (Chef, Terraform, Linux, Scripting, Python, other)Experience with cloud Compute, storage, backups, infrastructure as code, cloud automation, DevOps, and TerraformPublic Cloud Certification and Virtualisation certification (VMware preferable)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and accuracyTechnical KnowledgeFinOps ManagementAzure and AWS ExpertiseCloud Automation and DevOpsProfessional KnowledgeNetworking KnowledgeStorage area network infrastructureDatabase ManagementComputer SecurityDisaster Recovery & Business continuity standardsInformation Technology conceptsSystems application DesignJob Responsibilities FinOps Management: Implement and manage FinOps practices to optimize cloud spending and improve cost efficiency.Conduct regular cost analysis, identify cost drivers, and recommend optimization strategies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align FinOps practices with business goals. Azure and AWS Expertise:Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Native Azure services for building and managing cloud infrastructure.Stay updated on the latest Azure features and enhancements to leverage them effectively.Compute and Storage:Design, deploy, and manage compute instances and storage solutions in Azure.Optimize performance and costs related to compute and storage resources.Backups:Implement robust backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.Develop and maintain backup strategies in alignment with business continuity requirements.Infrastructure as Code (IaC):Utilize Infrastructure as Code principles to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure.Collaborate with development teams to integrate IaC practices into the software development lifecycle.Cloud Automation and DevOps:Implement and enhance cloud automation processes to streamline deployment and operations.Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and automate operational tasks.Terraform:Proficiently use Terraform to define and provision infrastructure as code.Collaborate with teams to ensure consistent use of Terraform for infrastructure management.Closing Date: 14 June 2024
