The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating schedules for public transportation services to ensure efficient and reliable operations. The Public Transport Scheduler will collaborate with various stakeholders, including drivers, dispatchers, and management, to optimize routes and maintain a seamless transit system. As a secondary role, this position has junior project management expectations role attached to it. It is a dynamic and productive growth opportunity to learn and adopt the project field. Job Description: Key Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Mark Rubenstein and working collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team, undertake the following high-level responsibilities in a professional manner: 1.Schedule Development: Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for public transport services. Coordinate with route planners, dispatchers, and operational staff to ensure alignment with service goals and customer demands. Consider factors such as traffic patterns, peak hours, and special events when developing schedules. 2.Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize existing schedules to improve efficiency and reduce delays. Utilize scheduling software and tools to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of route planning. Collaborate with other departments to incorporate feedback and address operational challenges. 3.Communication: Communicate schedule changes, updates, and other relevant information to drivers, dispatchers, and relevant stakeholders. Work closely with customer service teams to address passenger inquiries related to schedules. 4.Data Analysis: Analyze performance metrics and key performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions regarding schedule adjustments and improvements. 5.Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in schedule planning. Stay updated on local regulations and implement changes to schedules accordingly. 6.Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including maintenance, operations, and management, to address scheduling challenges and implement improvements. Participate in regular meetings to discuss system performance and coordinate cross-functional efforts. 7.Project: Help manage and deliver projects according to the agreed schedule, contracted deliverables and scope. Compilation of the project charter document To oversee the activities of the project delivery teams to ensure deliverables are being completed to defined expectations (within the base-lined cost and time plan), first time to successfully deliver the contracted scope. To maintain frequent and detailed communication with all members of the team to ensure clarity at all times. To proactively manage foreseen project risks and mitigate issues as they arise, implementing corrective actions. To support other Project Managers by taking on supervised support tasks on larger projects, as and when necessary To manage project administration tasks. To undertake any other project management duties as required. Customer: To assist with the management of customer/partner relationships from project authorisation and initiation through to project closure ensuring regular communication and reporting of project progress versus the delivery contract. Raising and recording variations and providing support to update the business case to provide continued business justification. Special Conditions Own transport with a valid drivers license is essential. This position may involve travel. Please note that all air travel is economy class.
