Someone who enjoys working with people and takes personal responsibility for other peoples’ learning.Primary PurposeThe Learning Specialist develops learning material and delivers it to the intended audience.The incumbent facilitates learning journeys for their business area, ensuring that career and development plans are in place, implemented and monitored.The Learning Specialist also facilitates/delivers Induction, Learnerships and Graduate Programmes and provides accurate learning analytics for continuous improvement.Experience2- 3 years’ recent and relevant working experience in a Learning & Development roleProven work experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator or similar roleSome knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery toolsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Sociology or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or an equivalent qualification in Education, Training and Development.Demonstrate knowledge of targeted training programmesHave a good understanding of the principles of adult learningDisplay integrity, reliability and well-developed interpersonal skills to interact with employees across all levels in the businessBe proactive and focused on the Learning & Development goalsDemonstrate problem analysis and solution finding skillsDisplay service orientation at all times (not negotiable)Demonstrate excellent attention to detailPossess the ability to define, develop and articulate learning and development needsPossess the ability to engage with respective business leaders with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationshipsDemonstrate good facilitation and presentation skillsDisplay good verbal and written communication abilityDisplay resilience and the ability to cope with pressurePossess the ability to coach and develop othersSDF knowledgeRoles and Responsibilities:DEVELOP LEARNING MATERIAL CURATED THROUGH NEEDS ANALYSIS AND DELIVER THE COURSEConducts learning needs analysis for the division and build a learning plan to address those needsWork with internal stakeholders to execute learning and development strategiesDesign and develop learning programmes and contentDeliver the learning programmes correctlyMeasure the impact of the learning and implement continuous improvement activitiesUse the latest and most applicable trends in learning and development practicesSource and negotiate with service providers for training interventionsCoordinate and manage the technology and stakeholders to develop online trainingDesign, develop and implement online modulesCoordinate delivery of online/virtual training as a refresher and reinforcement to training deliveredDrive brand values and philosophy through all learning and development activities.REPORTING AND LEARNING/TRAINING METRICSProduce reports on learning interventions on time and on requestImplement and monitor training metricsConsolidate information in a monthly and annual basis for reporting purposesProvide data for your area’s WSP and ATR SubmissionsCAREER & DEVELOPMENT PLANSFacilitate the preparation of Learning Journeys by assessing aligning to the individuals performanceDesign and develop career pathways for your business areaProvide Learning analytics for continuous improvementDesign and develop and facilitate an effective induction programme for new employees, learners and graduatesINDUCTION & ORIENTATIONBursaries, Internships, Learnerships and Graduate ProgrammesManage and co-ordinate bursaries, internships, graduate programmeKnow the latest developments in learnerships and skills development programmes and recommend ways to build a strong skills pipeline to future proof your business areaDemonstrate heartfelt professional empathy when interacting with learners, bursars and graduatesThis position is advertised in line with our commitment to Employment Equity.#J-18808-Ljbffr
