Purpose of the role: Reporting into the Safety and Sustainability Director, the Environmental Manager provides strategic input, specialist advice and associated tools, processes as well as methodologies to assist the 3 divisions within Empact Group to integrate robust environmental management practices to achieve our sustainability strategy. Qualifications and Experience:A recognised four-year bachelor'sdegree or equivalent in Environmental Science or Environmental Management.Professional certification in Environmental Management is highly regarded.6 – 8 years’ post qualification experience in Environmental Management, preferably within manufacturing or commercial services environment.3+ years ISO / Management Systems auditing experience.Experience in the implementation of environmental management systems.Advanced knowledge of environment principles and processes.Key areas of responsibility:Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the environmental management system and assist the business in achieving our sustainability goals, with specific reference to waste reduction and GHG emission reduction targets.Lead the development of divisional environmental strategies to ensure full legal and regulatory compliance and ensure alignment with the overall group sustainability strategy.Work with the business in the development of divisional strategies to transition from a linear consumption model to a circular supply and consumption model.Work closely with the divisional MDs to establish sustainability targets and ensuring that the operational activities and environmental plans are designed to meet those targets.Work with the Divisional MD’s in determining ***, OPEX and human resource requirements to implement the divisional strategy.Work closely with procurement to ensure procurement policies and procedures are aligned to the sustainability goals and objectives of the organisation.Develop competency and training frameworks for senior and operational management to ensure understanding and ability to implement standards and empower in unit employees.Coordinate all strategic and operational aspects of waste management and reduction, recycling, responsible water management, energy consumption and emission reduction etc.Lead the development and implementation of improvement programs across the business, ensuring replication of best practice or best in class environmental initiatives and standards.Establish and implement best practice processes, procedures, templates, specifications and guidelines for the implementation, measurement and verification of energy, water and waste efficiency projects.Anticipate and keep abreast of all regulatory trends, ensuring business readiness and implementation of changes.Collaborate with senior operations management to align all divisions with our sustainability strategy and facilitate internal and external training and engagement sessions.Influencing and engaging stakeholders to deliver on the group’s sustainability strategy and commitments while delivering accurate and quality outcomes. Track and measure environmental performances through dashboard reports providing ongoing feedback to the divisional MD’s and their senior management.Conduct impact assessment for all current and prospective service lines to identify and quantity environmental impact and ensure alignment with mitigation strategies.Develop and implement an internal and external audit programme to verify compliance, identify and classify non-conformances and work with the business in the implementation of corrective and preventative actions and controls.Engage with local regulatory bodies and stakeholders, to ensure close alignment and collaboration and serving as the company's environmental ambassador.Investigate all significant environmental incidents and associated follow up actions, whilst implementing actions to prevent future incidents.Knowledge, skills, and competencies:Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.Internal and external audit experience.Ability to work cross-functionally, cross-divisionally, and cross-culturally.Systems thinking and strong project management skills.Gather, review, and interpret information to identify trends, draw conclusions and generate appropriate response and feedback.Change management experience coupled with good analytical skills.Ability to set and prioritise short, mid, and long-term objectives.Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills - must have the ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced setting.Customer centric.Strong internal and external communicator – both written and verbal.Adaptability and an eagerness to embrace a learner mindset.Display a high level of computer literacy.Show commercial and financial acumen and an understanding of business.The ability to establish effective networks, both internally and externally.#J-18808-Ljbffr
