Job SummaryTo manage the integrated marketing activities for a division of Absa CIB’s Marketing Department that includes the co- development and implementation of marketing strategies, people management, managing marketing budgets, stakeholder relationships and operational risk. To participate in creating awareness,preference, usage and loyalty to Absa’s programmes and initiatives. The role is suited to a candidate with five (5) years Marketing Management experience in a Blue-Chip Corporate, Financial Institution or Investment Bank. Strong written communication skills, a track record in content marketing and experience in management of budgets and strategy essential.Job DescriptionParticipate in the creation of the marketing plans with clear focus, aligned to business objectives and MCR strategy.In conjunction with the Head of Business Unit (BU) to develop the marketing strategy aligned to the MCR Marketing strategy. Engage with the BU’s and obtain the relevant information to input into the design.Gather the necessary insights regarding target markets working with the Research department and other sources and utilize the information to mitigate the business strategies or influence opportunities.Align the BU Marketing Strategy with the overall MCR Strategy i.e. One Future project as well as adapt to the industry trends from Marketing and Business Unit perspective.In collaboration with the MCR Communications Team, drive the integrated marketing planning as well as the internal and external communication planning.Once the marketing plan has been agreed upon, conduct research, and review previous tactics to determine the relevance in line with the current business strategy. Plan tactics in terms of timing and organize resources to be engaged in accordance with planning.Manage efficient employment of financial and human resources with emphasis on maximising Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI) principles.Commission market research / assessment with the objective to identify marketing opportunities and constraints, influence product development and evaluate effectiveness of marketing strategies.Present research findings to the Business Unit and other key stakeholders responsible for executing on business strategy.Analyze / evaluate project proposals, both formal and informal, from potential strategic alliance partners based on the objectives of the business, potential return and the reputation of the strategic alliance partner. Recommendations are put forward to the General Manager and a joint decision is made.Drive the alignment between the Absa brand and Corporate Identity (CI) application by ensuring that our tactics and marketing strategy complies with the determined corporate identity guidelines and legal framework.Manage effective marketing and sales governance and related operational risks through mapping the marketing process in consultation with the Business Unit taking into consideration compliance and the governance framework.Provide leadership for Marketing and Sales activities - internally and externally and manage appointed service providers, if applicable, by constant evaluation of market opportunities and continued refinement of a tactical plan.Follow through day-to-day processes in MCR using the available tools by loading campaign briefs on Marketing Operating Model (MOM), Payment of invoices are processed through System Application Process (SAP) and present all creative work to the Creative Check Point forum.Effectively manage allocated budgets (functional & project budgets) by monitoring the payment of suppliers and producing budget reports.Monitor compliance training undertaken by team members and ensure that they complete the required training within prescribed timelines.Maintain close relationships with Risk, Legal and Compliance through continuous engagement and consultation and ensure staff compliance.Procure and manage suppliers within Absa Sourcing policy framework and manage the enforcement of SLAs.Ensure the correct application of brand and Corporate Identity, in line with the standing Absa brand & CI guidelines, through mastering the application of the Corporate Identity and ensuring all work is presented to Creative Check Point.Advise the Business Unit on potential leverage opportunities for the rest of the group.Manage implementation of policies and procedures, when required, in respect of business engagement both internally and externally through formal conversation what the policies and procedures are and refine the marketing process to ensure it's followed.Support and manage an efficient traffic function to lead on marketing execution resourcing and or scheduling requirements.Participate in all campaign projects affecting the relevant BU’s and drive activity through from brief to final output, working with internal clients and 3rd party agencies.Drive process, governance, budgets, ensuring requirements are met, and monitor project finances.In collaboration with the Head of Marketing, builds clear measurable targets into campaign plans, and ensures detailed, accurate reporting.Produce Post Campaign reports, to be shared with all key project stakeholders.Work with the Marketing Delivery team to support the Channel Marketing Strategy, participating in providing appropriate channel support across Absa.Participate in identifying the appropriate marketing channels to drive initiatives and ensure optimal placement.Maintain networking relationships with the relevant Heads and provide the appropriate advice on which marketing channels and activities will suit their strategy the best.Work with the marketing teams to assist with the successful execution of channel marketing programs and product launches to raise awareness and/or generate leads.With the support from the HR Business Partner, interview and recruit direct reports.Contribute to a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching.Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.Address poor performance of any team member through the formal Performance Accelerator Programme and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with.Conduct regular staff discussions to monitor and manage performance against set expectations.Execute staff-related administration; leave management, ESS, SRM, SAP approvals, EOS surveys and PD cycle processes and all other MCR Marketing tools and monthly reports.Manage staff daily operations to ensure satisfactory service delivery across client spectrum and equitable distribution of workloads.Act as first point for all grievances raised in the department.When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from Human Resources.Coach and mentor team members daily on how to improve their own productivity and use of the bank’s processes and systems.
