Key requirementsPost graduate degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration5 or more years of experience in a Transactional management role in the banking or financial services industry of which 2-3 years experience at a specialist levelIn-depth knowledge of banking products, services, and operational processes, including cash management, payments and treasury servicesStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trendsAbility to make data-driven decisionsSound understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standardsProficiency in banking software, platforms, Microsoft Office suiteFinancial and commercial acumenReport writingUnderstanding risk management principles in the banking industryKey responsibilitiesCreate and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients by providing advice and assistance Create understanding of the real versus perceived need through experience and expertise while complying with the company policies, legislations and regulationsKeep the client informed about progress through written communication, telephone communications and/or face-to-face meetingsBuild a positive image by exceeding client expectations at all times Treat internal and external customers fairly at all timesManage and develop subordinates (Performance management in terms of contracting, reviews and poor performers, training and development, employee relationsManage people efficiencies through leave management, headcount, budget, fixed term contracts, staff movements, secondments, staff utilizationDevelop an intimate understanding of the transactional banking sector and client's businessesImplement strategies to originate and execute transactions for new clients to the bank (business development)Create a business plan/strategy for each client and potential clientFollow up on all leads, reacting promptly to requests for service and identifying client needs promptly and proactivelyNegotiate and drive deal acceptance by presenting appropriate and convincing arguments that take into account the needs of all partiesNegotiate pricing and financial arrangements with clientsMonitor the portfolio of exposures on an ongoing basis to ensure risk and exposure is managedRemain alert to changes in risk profiles of the portfolio and structure alternative mitigation or remedial plans to contain or minimize potential lossesGenerate and analyze reports on transactional activities, trends, and performance metrics to identify insights and inform decision-making
