RPO's client in Sandton is currently seeking a skilled Actuarial Manager to join their team of professionals. The Actuarial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the actuarial department and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of actuarial processes and analyses. The individual in this role will collaborate with the Chief Actuary to develop strategies and make recommendations based on actuarial modeling and calculations. The Actuarial Manager will also be responsible for mentoring and leading a team of actuarial analysts.Responsibilities:Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the actuarial departmentLead the development and implementation of actuarial models and methodsPerform actuarial analyses to calculate insurance premiums, reserves, and profitabilityCollaborate with underwriting, finance, and other departments to support decision-making processesReview and approve actuarial reports and analyses prepared by junior team membersProvide recommendations on pricing, product development, and risk managementMonitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with standards and guidelinesTrain and mentor actuarial analysts to develop their skills and knowledgeParticipate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team membersRequirementsBachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related fieldFellowship in the The Actuarial Society of South Africa 7+ years of experience in actuarial roles within the insurance industry Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and presentation abilitiesProficiency in actuarial software and tools such as Excel, R, and SQLAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentExperience in managing and leading a team is preferredBenefitsOur client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experienceRPO is a Specialist Recruitment Agency that provides candidates and clients with unique recruitment solutions tailored to their needs.
