Division: One of the largest businesses within the Sanlam Group, Sanlam Corporate (SC) specialises in the provision of risk, investment and administration services to institutions and retirement funds. Focused on meeting the unique needs of its diverse clients, SC assists companies in creating and delivering customised employee benefits solutions, including the collection of premiums and communication to fund members. The overall purpose of the role: Project management of strategic initiatives on a cross-business and cross-functional basis and preparation of proposals for strategic partnerships, new business, and new products for both external and internal distribution. Provide high level support to the Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships in the execution of her responsibilities. Take ownership of projects that support the realisation of the business strategy. Collate, analyse and draw insights on business performance for the Sanlam Corporate Direct Team, identify, negotiate and realise new business opportunities with internal and external partners. Co-develop and drive the New Markets business strategy alongside the Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships team. Key Responsibilities: Compilation of presentations for delivery of the Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships to both internal and external audiences; Enable, coordinate and operationalise the strategic initiatives of the Head of BD and Strategic Partnerships Management of business reporting, compliance for the business to internal and external stakeholders Collate and drive preparation for various governance forums for the New Markets area Key Responsibilities: Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to: Detailed research and analysis to provide substance to the ideas and direction of the Manco and executive team. Project management of strategic initiatives on a cross-business and cross-functional basis; Management of business reporting governance, and compliance for the business to internal and external stakeholders; Compilation of presentations and speeches for delivery by the Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships to both internal and external audiences; Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to bring awareness and visibility to the work being executed; Input into operational design and process efficiencies; and preparation of proposals and reports for strategic partnerships and new business for both external and internal distribution. Qualification and Experience: Knowledge and Skills Relevant degree/s at post graduate level or higher, with a strong analytical or business focus. A proven, excellent track record of demonstrating the use of these skills in delivering projects and adding value to businesses and clients. Client centred – senior level experience, within a top tier organisation. Six to ten years business experience, preferably in a consulting leadership role or strategy function. Extensive business and/or technical experience with a proven track record of innovation, entrepreneurship, delivery and performance.
