You will be working as Project Control Analyst and will be part of Process Automation business area for ProcessIndustries division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this position you will report to the Finance Manager butsupport the Project Manager and Project Controller in all financial and commercial matters on projects assigned toyou. The key object being to pro-actively drive financial performance by reducing / mitigating unforeseen risks,managing costs within budget and supporting all stakeholders to ensure the project stays on track with respect to it's deliverables and execution timelines. Additionally, the Project Controls Analyst will serve as the central point of contact in coordinating deliverables and tasks between various functions / internal teams to gather insight, approvals&critical information on projects within their control. Your responsibilities The Project Controls Analyst will support the Project Team they work with to ensure ownership and accountability for the management and oversight of a project throughout its life-cycle, taking an active role in all aspects of the process. Their main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to: Tender Stage: Support the tender manager on financial/commercial aspects; provide or support input and information for the local and/or global risk review process. Initiation / Planning Stage: Ensure accurate logging of projects in approval monitoring systems, ensuring compliance with ABB internal controls. Project Execution Stage: Provides input to the project execution plan on financial aspects; Prepares project invoices, financial accounting, and reporting (including project site accounting); Drives project cash flow and oversees currency risk and tax issues; Responsible for the correctness of the project balance sheet and income statement, monitoring the proper follow-up on claims and back charges; Coordination and preparation of regular project reviews; ensuring all Treasury-related matters are initiated and followed through in a timely manner in conjunction with the Project Controller or Manager; Monitor and Review Stage: Participate or contribute to opportunity or risk identification; monitor that all required mitigation actions are timely implemented; Support the Project Manager / Controller in coordinating and preparing monthly project reviews; Participates in preparing the project cost report, verifying the substance for cost to complete, Commercial Terms: Providing support on claim management, back-charges, and insurance cases and monitoring the proper follow-up together with the Contract Manager/Project Manager Project Manager upstream (towards customers), side-stream (towards consortia partners), and downstream (towards suppliers). Compliance: Supporting the Project Manager in adherence to corporate governance, integrity, assurance, internal control, the group charter, and country-specific finance directives and instructions. Your background Degree / Diploma in finance or economics, or equivalent 2 years project analyst working would be advantageous Finance and business control experience with process orientation Detail-oriented team player with the ability to effectively adhere to strict deadlines Good organization skillset with ability to prioritize and act with urgency Working knowledge of finance and accounting software (SAP, ProMis, RR dB) Preference will be given to EE candidates.
