Financial Director - Parktown, South Africa - Fempower Personnel Description Join Our Team as a Financial Director We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Director to lead our financial services cluster. As the Financial Director, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our Microlending, Debt Collection, and Insurance Industries, ensuring compliance with regulations and driving business growth. Your expertise in finance, leadership abilities, and collaborative approach will be instrumental in achieving our goals. To excel in this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Financial Director in the financial services industry. As a Qualified Chartered Accountant, you will bring advanced Excel skills and a deep understanding of financial regulations to the table. Your proficiency, organizational excellence, strategic thinking, and effective leadership skills will be essential in driving our success. _ Responsibilities: _ Oversee and manage the financial operations of our financial services cluster, developing and implementing budget forecasts and strategies based on historical data and management insights. Utilize financial data and management insights to provide strategic recommendations for improving business performance, profitability, and cash flow generation. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements, preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls aligned with industry best practices. Assist in optimizing cash flow management strategies. Lead and mentor the finance team, guiding them in budget forecasts, cash flow analysis, and monthend close off. Prepare monthend reporting packs, including analysis of Profit Loss, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet Reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align budget forecasts and strategies with operational plans, enabling effective resource allocation and cost control. Expertly analyze and manage cash flow, identifying opportunities to optimize cash inflows, reduce outflows, and enhance working capital management. Drive innovative initiatives to generate cash within the microfinance, debt collection, and insurance sectors, following industry practices and regulations. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, for efficient yearend processes and reporting to Group Exco. Proactively identify and address financial risks, issues, and discrepancies, implementing corrective measures as needed. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes to drive continuous improvement. _ Inherent Qualifications and Skills: _ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Financial Director in the financial services industry. Qualified Chartered Accountant. Proven track record of success in financial and operational management, budgeting, and cash flow analysis. Expertise in developing and implementing budget forecasts and strategies using historical data and management insights. Strong understanding of acceptable industry practices for budgeting and cash flow management, particularly in microfinance. Advanced skills in Excel for financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and variance analysis. Proficiency in Sage Accpac, Caseware, and MS Office suite, etc. Strong leadership and managerial skills, motivating and developing a highperforming finance team. Deadlinedriven and detailoriented, committed to accuracy and meeting deadlines, especially during monthend close off. Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and strategic thinking abilities. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, effectively conveying complex financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
