Sysmex East Africa (SEA) seeks to employ a Field Service Engineer whose main role is to provide technical support to our customers&distributor partners in the form of instrument installations, troubleshooting, repair of instruments and perform preventive maintenance on instruments, ensure implementation of FSCAs&FCAs, as well as conduct technical training as required. The role requires a self- motivated and independent individual to take responsibility for meeting the service, maintenance, repair, and training requirements of Sysmex customers&partners for all equipment supported by Sysmex East Africa. Based in City: Nairobi, Kenya Travel requirements: Up to 40% Local&International travel You would be required to establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers as well as perform necessary administrative duties and other duties as assigned. Interested? Your responsibilities Responsible for Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on designated equipment. Completing Preventative Maintenance and field modifications Required to troubleshoot&resolve onsite malfunctions as a matter of priority to minimize downtime Ordering and managing of repair parts / spare parts Ensure inventory monitoring&monthly reconciliation&reporting of spare parts usage as per SEA procedures Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner Meeting all other applicable regulatory requirements Utilizing the escalation process to resolve customer service delivery issues. Identifying and participating in sales opportunities such as new contracts, contract renewals and system sales Working as a member of the team to provide efficient service delivery to all customers within assigned area Technical training of our end user customers on all our Sysmex systems / instruments as well as on third party systems supported by Sysmex Training of other FSE’s and distributors at SSA training facility as&when required Arrange or follow up on training as&when required for customers or distributor partners Participate in cross-functional project teams to ensure that all relevant customer projects are executed timeously&seamlessly + reporting on project status Your profile Degree in Biomedical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution At least 5 years’ experience in a medical diagnostics technical service/engineering field (extensive familairity with technical aspects of diagnostic equipment&the technology used in this field) Advanced troubleshooting in hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic circuits Must be an excellent problem-solver and be able to manage crises when they arise Advanced computer literacy with proficiency in the MS Office package&applications Presenting technical and application training information Technical and analytically inclined with excellent trouble shooting skills Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner. Must have superior presentation and report writing skills with attention to detail Must be an independent and self-motivated team player and willingness to travel locally as well be prepared to work after hours and some weekends Ability to work with cross functional teams&also work independently, prioritizes multiple projects, addresses multiple issues, and handles multiple deadlines, in a dynamic hands-on environment Ability to collaborate and work with multiple stakeholders within a global organization across the regions, as well as external stakeholders Self-driven with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency Must be in possession of all the required documents that will facilitate smooth travel both locally&internationally for business purposes (valid drivers’ license / passport / all necessary vaccination certificates as required for cross border access etc.) We offer Sysmex SEA will offer a market related remuneration package for this opportunity.
