Employer DescriptionTravel Agency in JHB North Job DescriptionTo manage the new business sales strategyTo achieve new business targetsTo manage end to end sales strategy in agreed sectorsCoordinate the effective and efficient day to day running of the Business Development TeamDevelop and implement departmental short, medium and long-term strategies with the COO and MD, in alignment with the Company's macro strategyEnsure that the departmental short, medium and long term goals are achieved.Partake in ensuring that Management goals and objectives are achieved.Manage, develop and implement effective new business sales strategies and tacticsBe an active "player" in such customer retention and growth strategiesCompile revenue budgets in conjunction with the COO and MDEnsure that such budgets are achievedEnsure that the Wings Corporate Policy and Code of Conduct is promoted and practiced in the Department(s)Participate in client engagement sessionsTravel nationally or internationally as requiredManage the onboarding of newly acquired clientsAttend regular monthly product presentations, Finance & Administration and Operations meetings as and when requiredEnsure that the monthly management reports are documented and communicated when requiredProvide stakeholders with any ad hoc reports when requestedEnsure that training needs within the department are identified and addressedBring to the attention of the Head of Human Resources any training needs of the department and be involved in the departmental recruitment processEnsure that staff receives the necessary training to consistently perform their dutiesParticipate in staff scorecard meetingsEnsure that new business activity is conducted in line with the Company's Code of Business ConductQualificationsMatric.Relevant tertiary qualification. SkillsAt least 10 years sales/account management experience within the travel industry.At least 2 years previous experience in a customer relations position within the travel and tourism industry.Excellent presentation skills, negotiation and relationship building skills with strong commercial awareness.Minimum four days per week in officeAttend meetings/functions and any other events as required. After hours and weekend activities will be expected in this regard.National and international travel will be required.Attend all Management retreats.
