Job Description The Mainframe Lead is a key player in ensuring the smooth functioning, quality, and alignment of mainframe applications with organizational goals. Their role involves a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking. This hands-on approach suggests that the Mainframe Lead is not only a leader but also a technical expert actively involved in the day-to-day operations of mainframe application development and maintenance. The ability to interpret requirements, make independent decisions, and collaborate effectively is crucial for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: Applications Impact Remediation: Guide the team in addressing the impact of technology changes on mainframe applications. Conduct hands-on mainframe application impact analysis and propose remediation strategies. Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in mainframe technologies to actively participate in analysis, enhancement, testing, and integration processes. Provide leadership and support in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Release Management: Coordinate release management activities for mainframe applications. Ensure seamless integration of changes into the existing environment. Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with different application owners and users to understand their requirements and concerns. Foster collaboration between team members and stakeholders. Quality Assurance: Standardize quality assurance procedures for mainframe software. Oversee testing and debugging processes to maintain high-quality software. Problem Resolution: Research and address complaints related to software issues. Propose necessary adjustments and recommendations for resolving complex software-related challenges. Strategic Understanding: Understand the department, segment, and organizational strategy. Align work with operating objectives and identify linkages to related areas. Decision-Making: Make informed decisions regarding work methods, especially in ambiguous situations. Operate with minimal direction, demonstrating independence and initiative. Compliance: Follow established guidelines and procedures in all aspects of the role. Ensure compliance with organizational standards and policies. Minimum requirements: First Degree in Information Technology 3-4 years experience in risk management and identifying mitigating strategies and plans 5-7 years proven experience in mainframe ESM software. • Demonstrated experience in identifying, reporting, and finding solutions in new and existing software. Strong hands-on experience with installation and configuration of mainframe products and software 5-7 years strong IT understanding, gaining insight into digital and platform operating models and information security trends and solutions.
