The Financial manager will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in financial management and possess excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.Duties & ResponsibilitiesFinance and Treasury ManagementMaintain accurate financial records in accordance with IFRSEnsure that financial risks are identified and effectively managed through theimplementation and monitoring of appropriate accounting procedures (aligned with IFRS),sound internal controls and good governance structuresEnsure that the organisation’s core finances are managed and accounted for in aneffective and transparent mannerReview the effectiveness of the accounting and reporting systems on an ongoing basis, toidentify areas for enhancement or improvement Prepare relevant and accurate monthly management accounts for submission to therelevant stakeholders including the CFO, executive management team, as well as addressany queries raisedOversee the full accounting functions including the income statement, accountsreceivable, accounts payable and all assetsEnsure that the organisation has adequate short-term and professional indemnityinsurance coverManage the full payroll functionManage compliance with all relevant SARS registrations and requirements(monthly, bi-annually, and annually)Manage compliance with all relevant CIPC registrations and filing requirementsProvide organisational staff with efficient and effective support/assistance from theAssist with finance staff training and development to ensure that the team has up to dateawareness and knowledge of best practice and financial mattersWork in partnership with the Projects and Funder Team Lead and Executive to ensure afully integrated and efficient finance functionManage the core finance team which includes managing all team deadlines, delegating asand where necessary, managing work allocation, as well as, approving any staff leaveIn collaboration with the CFO, effectively manage all cash flows to meet theorganisational needsLiaise and manage the existing relationship with the organisation’s bankersReview all Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments weeklyEnsure that all source documents are appropriately filed, and files are properly labelled tofacilitate the easy retrieval of documentsBudgets and forecastsAssist the respective business units with the preparation of their annual budgets includingassessing the accuracy and reasonableness thereofIn collaboration with the CFO, prepare the organisation’s consolidated annual budget, aswell as, prepare the half year review and forecastMonitor monthly actual expenditure against budgets and activities, identifying variancesand ensuring that the necessary follow-up action is takenPrepare timeous and accurate financial reports for submission to the CFO, executivemanagement team and the board of directorsFinancial Statements and AuditsLead and manage the preparation of the organisation’s annual financial statementsManage the existing relationship with the organisation’s external auditorsUndertake audit preparations to ensure an efficient, effective, and successful auditprocessEnsure that audit findings are timeously resolved, prior to the commencement of the nextContract and Procurement ManagementWork in partnership with the Procurement & Contract Managers to monitor andensure compliance with the organisation’s Procurement Policy and related procedures,Ensure that organisational spending is undertaken inline with the organisation’sProcurement Policy and with due regard for value-for-moneyIdentify areas for potential cost savings Assist with the development and review of procurement policies and procedures on an ongoing basis toidentify areas for enhancementProvide support to the Sales & Customers success Managers with tender processes,including the development of tender dossiersDesired Experience & QualificationA BCom in Financial Accounting or Financial ManagementCompleted articles with an accredited audit firmMembership with either SAICA, ACCA or CIMA would be advantageousProficiency on SAGE People and accounting softwareMinimum of 5 years work experience in an audit, accounting, or core finance environmentMinimum of 2 years management experience (people and/or otherwise)Experience in the ICT sector would be advantageousAble to establish and maintain sound relationships with key stakeholdersAble to provide the inspiration, direction and incentives required for team success Able to create an environment conducive to learning and development Able to embrace diversity and ensure fairnessAble to focus on optimising own and others’ energy to drive resultsAble to use analysis, logic, innovation, experience, skill, and knowledge to solve problemsAble to express oneself effectively verbally and in writing in the English languageAble to demonstrate strong conviction in own judgment and actionsAble to use discretion and deal with sensitive information in a confidential andprofessional mannerAdvanced proficiency in MS Office -
