About the job Asset Management Consultant Position: Asset Management Consultant An opportunity exists for an Asset Management Consultant that has experience in improving Asset Management practices in the Infrastructure (roads, civil structures, water) and Mining sectors. The company requires a seasoned professional to assist with the consulting portion of the business. The company delivers the following services: Project Support (Project Management, Operational Readiness, Procurement Support), Operations Support (Operations and Maintenance Management, Maintenance optimisation, Skills Development) Skills Supply Systems Implementation (EAM, CMMS, DMS, Condition monitoring) The company has operations in various African countries and companies in Mauritius, South Africa, France, Guinea and Angola. This position is based in South Africa, but the consultant will be required to travel to other clients in South Africa and Africa to carry out various assessments, and improvement projects, and will have the flexibility to work either in the South African office (Paarl) or remotely. Duties and Responsibilities: As an Asset Management Consultant specializing in ISO 55000 implementation, you will play a pivotal role in guiding organizations through the process of developing and implementing effective asset management systems compliant with ISO 55000 standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping clients optimize their asset management practices, enhance operational efficiency, and maximize the value of their physical assets. Key Responsibilities: Asset Management Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' existing asset management practices, processes, and systems to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for ISO 55000 compliance. ISO 55000 Implementation: Lead and oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of ISO 55000 compliant asset management systems for clients across various industries. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with client stakeholders to develop strategic asset management plans aligned with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and ISO 55000 principles. Policy and Procedure Development: Assist clients in drafting, reviewing, and refining asset management policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with ISO 55000 standards and best practices. Performance Measurement and Optimization: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance targets to measure the effectiveness of asset management practices, and develop strategies to optimize asset performance and reliability. Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement: Provide guidance and support to client teams throughout the ISO 55000 implementation process, facilitating change management initiatives and engaging stakeholders at all levels to ensure buy-in and alignment. Training and Capacity Building: Develop and deliver customized training programs, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions to build clients' internal capacity in asset management best practices and ISO 55000 compliance. Documentation and Reporting: Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of all asset management processes, procedures, and records, and prepare regular progress reports and status updates for clients and project stakeholders. More than 5 years experience as Asset Management consultant gained within the infrastructure (roads, civil structures, water) and Mining Industry Qualifications: National Diploma/Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil-, Mechanical -, Industrial -, Electrical Engineering , - Mining, - Metallurgical Engineering Professional certifications in asset management (e.g., CMRP, CAMA, IAM) preferred. Additional Requirements: Proven experience in physical asset management consulting, with a focus on implementing ISO 55000 asset management systems for clients in diverse industries, preferable for at least 3 clients In-depth knowledge of ISO 55000 standards, asset management principles, and best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex asset management challenges and develop practical solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of client organizations. Project management expertise, including the ability to develop project plans, manage resources, and deliver projects on time and within budget. Proficiency in asset management software and tools, such as computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and enterprise asset management (EAM) software. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of asset management, ISO standards, and related technologies.
