With a focus on compliance, employee relations, and strategic HR planning, they assist their clients in optimising their workforce while ensuring legal and ethical practices.JOB TITLE: HR/IR OfficerAREA: Erasmuskloof, PretoriaINDUSTRY: Labour ConsultantSALARY / CTC : R 20 000 – R 25 000Report to: Director Job Overview: The HR/IR Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing industrial relations (IR) activities for the company. This includes handling rescission applications, enforcement proceedings, review applications, and representing the company at the CCMA, Labour Court, and Bargaining Council. The role requires a strong understanding of labour laws, dispute resolution, and excellent negotiation and communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Industrial Relations Management:Attend to and manage rescission applications.Handle enforcement proceedings and ensure compliance with court orders.Prepare and manage review applications as required.Represent the company in all Industrial Relations matters including at the CCMA, Labour Court, and Bargaining Council.Dispute Resolution:Provide advice and support on IR issues to management and employees.Facilitate and mediate disputes between employees and management.Ensure effective and timely resolution of disputes to maintain workplace harmony.Legal Compliance:Ensure that the company complies with all relevant labour laws and regulations.Stay updated with changes in labour laws and inform management of any impacts on the organisation.Draft and review company policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements.Representation:Represent the company in hearings, arbitrations, and court proceedings.Prepare and submit necessary documentation for hearings and legal processes.Liaise with legal counsel and external parties as required.Employee Relations:Advise and support employees on employment-related matters.Conduct investigations into grievances and disciplinary issues.Assist in the development and implementation of employee relations programs.Reporting:Prepare and present reports on IR activities and outcomes to senior management.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all IR matters.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field.Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience in an HR/IR role.Strong knowledge of South African labour laws and regulations.Proven experience in handling IR cases and representing at CCMA, Labour Court, and Bargaining Council.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Skills and Competencies:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.High level of integrity and professionalism.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Strong organisational and time management skills.Personal Characteristics:Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.Assertive and confident in handling complex IR issues.Strong ethical standards and a commitment to fairness.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Additional Requirements:Willingness to travel as needed for court appearances and hearings.Valid driver’s license.
