Job Description: The CSIR has a vacancy for a Project Manager in the Smart Places Hosted Programmes Portfolio. The purpose of the role is to develop skills development initiatives. The incumbent will manage and execute the planning, monitoring and completion of skills development projects, using project management principles effectively and efficiently. This position is in Pretoria. [ads1] Job Responsibilities: Create suitable and appropriate project plans with timelines, milestones and dates of completion. Identify risks and facilitate scoping and planning of projects. Prepare proposals and participate in negotiations with potential Partners, Collaborating entities and Service Providers to secure agreements that would contribute to the Skills Development Objectives of Hosted Programmes. Manage communications to stakeholders and when appropriate, involve the relevant Communications Practitioners within Hosted Programmes. Direct, manage and control project work. Ensure compliance to all governance requirements. Identify opportunities to improve the impact of skills development activities and make recommendations in this regard. Conduct and control contracting and procurement.
