Registered Nurse (Urology practice) - Pretoria About the job Registered Nurse (Urology practice) - Pretoria Registered Nurse for a Urology Practice in Pretoria Our client a urology practice is seeking to recruit a full Registered Nurse. This is a full time role working from Monday to Friday from 07h30 16h30 and involves travelling between 2-3 practices with the employer potentially on average between 1-2 days per week. Given the sensitivity of this role, the candidate needs to be empathetic, kind and patient centred person. Requirements: Doing rounds with the Urologist at the hospital in respect of admitted patients Making notes and assisting with treatment plans, scripts and medical notes Liaising with post operative patients telephonically and or in person that might require information or alternations to medication etc. Conducting medical tests e.g. Uroflow Assisting with minor in-room procedures Procedure room preparation Theatre bookings Arranging admission of patients with treatment plans Stock supply Assess and monitor patient condition s , medical situation s and vital signs as needed Accurate clinical evaluation of patient complaint s , including initial history taking Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments Maintain accurate reporting and record keeping Deliver appropriate information to healthcare users in a manner that is sensitive to their conditions and level of understanding Explain the potential side effects of medication and provide patients with information and advice on prescribed medication Interpreting findings and formulating a diagnosis for common and emergency conditions Qualification: Minimum 2-3 years' experience SANC registered Skills and attributes: Strong interpersonal skills Discretion A quick thinker Compassionate and empathetic Function as part of a team and independently Professional communication skills with patients, relatives and a multi-disciplinary team Be able to think on your feet, cope under pressure and show initiative Be assertive when needed Ability to work under pressure Making sound decisions English and fluency in Afrikaans would be an added advantage Well-presented and professional Build professional relationships with doctors and hospital employees to promote patient-doctor interaction Working hours: Monday to Friday from 07h30 16h30 with the ability to possibly travel with the employer between various practices on average 1-2 times per week Appointment: As soon as possible Only candidates who meet all the minimum requirements stipulated in the advert, will be considered.
