Registered Nurse (Urology practice) - PretoriaAbout the job Registered Nurse (Urology practice) - PretoriaRegistered Nurse for a Urology Practice in PretoriaOur client a urology practice is seeking to recruit a full Registered Nurse.This is a full time role working from Monday to Friday from 07h30 16h30 and involves travelling between 2-3 practices with the employer potentially on average between 1-2 days per week.Given the sensitivity of this role, the candidate needs to be empathetic, kind and patient centred person.Requirements:Doing rounds with the Urologist at the hospital in respect of admitted patientsMaking notes and assisting with treatment plans, scripts and medical notesLiaising with post operative patients telephonically and or in person that might require information or alternations to medication etc.Conducting medical tests e.g. UroflowAssisting with minor in-room proceduresProcedure room preparationTheatre bookingsArranging admission of patients with treatment plansStock supplyAssess and monitor patient conditions, medical situations and vital signs as neededAccurate clinical evaluation of patient complaints, including initial history takingPrepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatmentsMaintain accurate reporting and record keepingDeliver appropriate information to healthcare users in a manner that is sensitive to their conditions and level of understandingExplain the potential side effects of medication and provide patients with information and advice on prescribed medicationInterpreting findings and formulating a diagnosis for common and emergency conditionsQualification:Minimum 2-3 years' experienceSANC registeredSkills and attributes:Strong interpersonal skillsDiscretionA quick thinkerCompassionate and empatheticFunction as part of a team and independentlyProfessional communication skills with patients, relatives and a multi-disciplinary teamBe able to think on your feet, cope under pressure and show initiativeBe assertive when neededAbility to work under pressureMaking sound decisionsEnglish and fluency in Afrikaans would be an added advantageWell-presented and professionalBuild professional relationships with doctors and hospital employees to promote patient-doctor interactionWorking hours:Monday to Friday from 07h30 16h30 with the ability to possibly travel with the employer between various practices on average 1-2 times per weekAppointment:As soon as possibleOnly candidates who meet all the minimum requirements stipulated in the advert, will be considered.
