Reporting to the Commercial Director, the main purpose of this role is to develop the Bulk/Industrial vegetable oil segment for the company through a thorough understanding of technical requirements of new and established customers.ResponsibilitiesAchieving Sales TargetsEnsure a continuous and comprehensive understanding of market conditions, trading in those conditions and strategizing ability to adapt to the market conditionsAchieve sales budget, including export salesEstablish new relationships and develop business opportunities.Negotiate terms and closing sales with authorized parameters.Identify and track new and lost opportunitiesReportingDevelop quarterly selling plans in line with company strategy and goalsWeekly, Monthly and Quarterly reporting on sales figures and activitiesManage draft SO’s, BA agreements, MRP and inventory stock on store level and with internal stakeholdersReporting of any quality mattersGather market and customer information and provide feedbackLog client activities on CRM platformContinuous analysis and reporting of competitor activitiesStakeholder ManagementMaintain and manage relationshipsTimely communication and feedback to customersContinuous strategic planningTechnical: ProductsUp to date understanding and knowledge of commodity markets, factors influencing market movements and technical properties pertaining to different products its application as well as the industrial marketCompilation of weekly market movement reportsHealth and SafetyParticipate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talksFollow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / managementReport all safety incidents to the relevant peopleAttend safety education and refresher programmesComply with safety policies and procedures at SoillDistribute safety information as and when requiredWear protective clothing (where applicable) at all timesRequirementsQualification and ExperienceBusiness Management diploma/ degree or BCom Degree recommendedAt least 3 years’ relevant experience in the management of key-accountsSales experience within industrial/food manufacturing, coupled with commodities, essentialComputer literacy and experience on computerized accounting packagesGood understanding of profit and loss calculations and business financeKnowledge, Skills and AttributesAdministrative abilitiesAbility to withstand pressureAdaptable to changeMust have a passion for the FMCG environmentSelf-driven and results-oriented with a positive outlookInnovative merchant mindset that constantly challenges the status quoA natural forward planner who critically assesses own performanceMature and comfortable in dealing with Senior ManagementMust have the ability to be hands-on and operate at a strategic levelCustomer service orientatedAccept responsibility and accountabilityBe able to solve problems quickly and efficientlyThe opportunity listed has minimum requirements listed and management reserves the right to use additional or other relevant information as criteria for short listing.Remuneration and benefits will be commensurate with the seniority of the role and in compliance with company policy and practice.We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, but South African citizens will have a distinct advantage.
