23 May 2024 Region: Country: South Africa Company: Aces Africa C&I Experience: 5+ Contract Term: Permanent Role Requirements: As a Foreman, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar energy systems in residential and commercial properties. Qualifications: – Preferably a qualified electrician or 5 years in similar role Experience and Skills: – Experience with AC installation. – Proficient in DC installations. – Able to install and wire cable trays and DB boards as needed. – Ability to follow engineering drawings and install systems to specifications. – Organisational and planning skills. – Strong team leadership abilities. – Effective communication skills. Reporting: – Provide progress reports and QAQC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) during installation. Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Leadership: a. Lead the installation of Solar PV projects according to the provided design. b. Enforce applicable HR codes and company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety. c. Follow engineering drawings and install systems to specifications. 2. Learning and Development: a. Learn the company’s standards within the 3-month probation period. b. Understand the workflow and standards of project sites within 6 months. c. Be capable of running a full site within 12 months of starting with the company. 3. Installation Tasks: a. Install AC and DC components, cable trays, and DB boards. b. Wire and configure DB boards as necessary. 4. Documentation: a. Complete post-project documentation, including DC quality checklists, in-progress and final photos, and labelling. b. Document installation progress, such as wire management, serial numbers, and site map. c. Fill out daily progress reports and make them available online for the Project Manager, including expense reports and living out allowance reports. 5. Team Management: a. Set the tone for the team, inspiring them to exceed goals and expectations. b. Develop a positive working dynamic within installation crews. c. Check on the progress of installers regularly to ensure the installation process is being performed as per engineering pack and construction timelines. 6. Resource Management: a. Ensure that there are adequate materials and equipment to safely and efficiently complete projects. b. Maintain and inspect test equipment, including periodic calibration checks. c. Be responsible for all equipment issued by the company. 7. Driving and Vehicle Maintenance: a. Drive responsibly and be accountable for any fines issued to the allocated vehicle. b. Report roadworthiness and future dated services of the company vehicle issued to you. 8. Communication and Feedback: a. Maintain excellent lines of communication. b. Provide constructive feedback to management. c. Report accurately worked hours and stand down and communicate to the HR manager. d. Ensure accuracy of your own as well as your team’s timesheets. 9. Housekeeping: a. Maintain housekeeping at work locations, including the site, office, and company vehicle.
