IntroductionOur Company is looking for a Dynamic and committed Mechanical Engineer to join the team in either Cape Town /PretoriaDuties & ResponsibilitiesMechanical Engineering Capable of troubleshooting, repairing and overhauling equipment within close tolerances. Support the Technical department in equipment setup and training of Technical Staff in maintenance activities. Manage the Technical Team to properly maintain and ensure efficient and effective repairs of equipment in a fast paced, high production work environment, while prioritizing multiple mechanical/electrical and administrative tasks. Possess and apply fundamental understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings to solve problems in a timely manner. Troubleshoot basic and advanced pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level on all assigned equipment. Support management of routine mechanical problem-solving on coaches and/or equipment. Support management of Preventative Maintenance (PM's) on coaches and/or equipment with minimal guidance.Field service engineering Management of completion of all service, repair, warranty, and inspection jobs allocated daily, to a high-quality standard. Respond to enquiries from colleagues/management about the technical aspects of the organization’s products and services. Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve standard and advanced technical problems that arise, ensure ongoing efficiency within Technical Department.IT / System Development Assist with the development of quality software and systems to ensure efficiency within Technical Department. Analyse and maintain existing software applications/systems. Design highly scalable, testable code. Working on the development and implementation of the company's Technical systems. Developing software code in accordance with customer requirements in conjunction with the IT team. Performing functional and technical analysis. Assist with implementation of system upgrades and retraining of existing employees if appropriate and training of new employees.Data Analyzation Writing SQL scripts, queries, and stored procedures to extract data. Develops complex advancement reports using SQL, Microsoft Office and other utilities or languages as necessary. Performing ad hoc and structured data analysis. Generating quality technical / fleet reports. Identify data issues proactively and flag them to respective stakeholders. Apply analytical and innovative problem-solving skills. Management of data requests, including receiving prepared data changes from the Implementation Specialist(s), handling, and processing incoming data change requests. Implement best practices in data management to ensure the integrity of the data, the quality of data processes and delivers analysable or analysed data to a variety of internal and external clients.Product Specialist Knowledge Responsible for managing and concluding projects as required, including involvement in requirements and specification, scoping, time estimating, delivering, testing, and communicating to key stakeholders. Providing cover where required – tasks identified as urgent to be picked up as necessary. Second line management for incoming requests and handling those that have been escalated. Ensure department processes are documented and that documentation is kept up to date and published appropriately. Undertake relevant training as provided by the company. Develop skills and knowledge of the organisation’s products and service Providing management with specific and relevant information about new and used fleet, accessories, and equipment. Planning and performing product presentations to management on new and used fleet. Supporting the planning, managing and delivery of test drives. Management of product creation processes, understanding the business need for products, responsibility for product creation, testing and communication. ​​​​​​​Reporting Management Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual permanent supervision reporting controls. Manage the daily, weekly, monthly maintenance reports. Manage and monitor technical reports. Management of Fleet - daily performance reports. Manage daily breakdowns reported. Service Advisor Evaluate company requirements on servicing or repair, in line with Fleet Maintenance checks. Ensure management is aware of all applicable costs and the progress of repairs in a timely manner and competently handling of queries/issues. Ensure the delivery of exceptional service to achieve the set objectives whilst adhering to the relevant and applicable standards procedures. Maintain accurate customer details to ensure customer database is up to date. Up to date knowledge on additional products and services is essential. Work in line with all service and warranty policies of both group and manufacturer. Risk and Compliance Continuously evaluate and update technical department risk management. Conduct depot visits to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. Influence and develop policies as required by business needs. Sign-off on all company related documentation in capacity as a senior member. Human Capital Management Ensure training and developments of all employees are conducted – either in-house or via service providers. Ensure effective HC / IR and Training and development strategies in departments of responsibility. Ensure role definitions in different departments are aligned with the business strategy. Ensure motivation of workforce. Ensure consistent application with company policies. Manage all direct reports according to company policies and procedures. Assisting the Technical Team with overseeing, including work allocation, coaching, mentoring and guidance where required. Effective utilization of all systems used in the company Log all related information on company system as required by policy. Understand all company systems available and the value that can be gained from these. Ensure that internal technical dashboards/ notice boards are maintained and reviewed. Responsible for effective utilization, accurate capturing, and thorough record keeping on all systems relevant to perform daily tasks within department. Capture and ensure effective and thorough record keeping on the Move system. Capture and ensure the correct information are loaded and always reflects accurately on the Move system and all other relevant systems in the department and on a continuous basis. Responsible to ensure that training on all relevant systems for department is received or have provided training to direct reports. SHEQ / OHS Complete risk assessments / permits to work and formulate method statements to assist in safe undertaking of any activity within the technical department. Comply with all Legal and company standards, such as code of conduct and OHS practices. Ensure practices that are safe, and healthy within a work environment that is reasonably practicable and discipline non-compliance.​​​​​​​Policies and procedures Ensure compliance with approved company, statutory and regulatory policies/procedures.
