Duties&Responsibilities Purpose of the Role The Senior quantity surveyor manages all costs relating to projects, from the initial calculations, pre-feasibility to the final agreement and final account statement. Senior Quantity surveyors seek to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Many of these are specified by statutory building regulations, which the quantity surveyor needs to understand and adhere to. A Senior quantity surveyor is involved in various projects from the start, preparing estimates and costs of the work. When the project is in progress, the Senior Quantity Surveyor keeps track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability. Areas of Responsibilities Contracts Production Administration and reporting Health and Safety Desired Experience&Qualification Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, or related Degree. 5-10 years’ experience as quantity surveyor for a mining industry Required to travel for operational site visits (locally and abroad).
