Job purpose We are seeking a highly experienced Production Manager that will manage the overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labour, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established and set for the Department. Ensures the planning, implementation, management and evaluation of productivity, profitability, service level adherence and compliance. Oversees the manufacturing processes in the plant and ensures that production lines run without any problems and minimum downtime; and provides overall management and training for employees and maintains quality assurance programs. Responsibilities Providing production plans that enable clear planning, managing, implementing and achieving of production targets. Planning and outlining the full production cycle for each order. Compiling the production plan for Haver SA Ensuring that planning effectively covers procurement of raw materials, assembly of components, and packing and dispatch. Approving the Bill of Materials (BOM) to be used for orders. Scheduling shifts and activities for factory staff. Aligning production targets with operational workflows. Devise strategies to achieve the company's production targets. Ensure and allocate adequate stock to enable production. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures. Ensuring resources are appropriately allocated and time allocated for production allows timely completion of orders. Compile and implement contingency plans to resolve arising breakdowns. Plan and schedule the servicing of machinery. Develop and outline operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities. Coordinate employee shifts and overtime where necessary. Investigate and deviations from set production targets and record inefficiencies Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements Estimate costs and prepare budgets Assess expenses and develop budgets Structure workflow to fulfill requirements and meet deadlines Oversee production to address any issues that arise Supervise and assess the performance of production staff (such as quality inspectors and workers) Ascertain the required resources (such as workforce and raw materials) Authorize maintenance tasks, equipment purchases, etc. Implement and enforce health and safety measures Ensure production output meets quality standards Report to upper management Education National Diploma in Operations, Production Management or a related field (NQF 6). Experience At least 5 years' work experience in Production Planning / Manufacturing / Operations Management. 3 Years in a supervisory / management role. Extensive knowledge and expertise of production management Understanding of quality standards and health&safety regulations Skills Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts Experience in reporting on key production metrics Proficient in MS Office and ERP software Outstanding communication ability Excellent organizational and leaderships skills Attention to detail Strong decisionmaking skills and a resultsdriven approach Job Types : Full-time, Permanent Pay: R35 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month Ability to commute/relocate: Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred) Application Question(s): Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in production management Experience : Production Planning / Manufacturing / Operations Management: 5 years (preferred) #J-18808-Ljbffr
