The Buyer in the ready-mix industry is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services necessary for the production of ready-mix concrete, as well as all related activities. This includes managing supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery of all materials, and optimizing costs. The Buyer will work closely with the heads of the various departments within the organisation, and shall report directly to the MD.  Minimum Requirements:Physically fit and healthyValid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.Computer Literate at intermediate level (Pastel Partner understanding advantageous)Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a minimum of 3 years in the construction or ready-mix concrete industryStrong negotiation and communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.Knowledge of industry procurement requirements as well as good mechanical/technical understanding of concrete plants.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):Cost savings achieved through effective negotiation and sourcing.Supplier performance and reliabilityCompliance with quality and regulatory standards.Accuracy and timeliness of procurement documentation and reporting. Please consider your application unsuccessful if you have not received a response within two weeks of applying.
