Position : Our client is seeking an experienced Executive: Information Technology to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing the overall organisational strategy and overseeing all aspects of Information Technology. This role requires extensive managerial experience in IT, preferably within the Medical Scheme Industry. Functions : • Assist in the development of the overall organizational strategy. • Collaborate with Trustees and Executive Management to define strategies and specify requirements for Information Technology, conducting feasibility studies and producing strategic models of the organization's information needs. • Compile, execute, and manage ICT initiatives. • Identify alternative ICT solutions to deliver more efficient services to the organisation. • Provide ICT information to support decision-making on key business imperatives for the Board of Trustees and Executive Management. • Ensure compliance with King IV principles. • Negotiate and manage contracts, service levels, and specifications with third-party service providers. • Act as the final point of escalation for issues raised by third-party service providers or users and arbitrate in conflict situations. • Foster good communication between third-party providers and users within the organisation. • Continuously monitor third-party supplier contracts and take appropriate actions to enforce penalty clauses or terminate contracts if necessary. • Report regularly against agreed strategies, plans, and required outcomes. • Produce accurate business cases for recommended new strategies, identifying business impact, anticipated benefits, risks, and consequences of failure. • Manage and plan ICT, including policy and practice development, planning, budgeting, resourcing, and training. • Select and implement suitable technology to streamline internal operations and optimize strategic benefits. • Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with ICT providers. • Conduct strategic hardware and software needs analysis and planning. • Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) to ensure optimal performance. • Direct and organize ICT-related projects. • Monitor changes or advancements in technology to identify opportunities for gaining competitive advantage. • Analyse the costs, value, and risks of information technology to advise executive management and suggest actions. • Manage staff within the IT department. Skills : • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Office, Outlook, and Internet. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. • Excellent negotiation skills. • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans with strong interpersonal communication. • Team player with a caring attitude. • Flexible in adapting to changes and management decisions. • Proficient in problem-solving techniques and record keeping. • Leadership skills and ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships. Requirements : • Proven experience as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) or similar managerial role. • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, including exposure to Oracle systems and relevant programming languages pertaining to the organization's administration system. • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations. • Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation. • Functional knowledge of IT infrastructure planning, including hardware and software. • Expert ability to function on a strategic level.
