Summary: Effectively managing all receiving operations processes and procedures minimizing shrinkage and damages of stock within the receiving department FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: Communication Skills Strong Administration Skills Planning, Organising and Control Knowledge of Store process Manage and Motivate staff member The position requires trust and honesty and that entails the handling of cash and/or finances, which includes but is not limited to, the handling, administering, processing and distribution of the Company’s monetary resources such as its stock in trade or merchandise Manage receiving procedures Schedule deliveries taking into account loads&delivery cycles agreed with vendors as per the policy. Consult the branch manager for decisions on accepting/ refusing unscheduled deliveries. Control booking in&receiving procedures for all deliveries, including normal vendors, courier deliveries, STOs, direct deliveries&manual booking in when the system is off-line. (Ref: D_LG_GR_PR_COUR_V3_bw2008.doc.; D_LG_GR_PR_ST_V3_bw2008.doc, DLR_MC_PU_DD_VS_bw2008.doc) Ensure that all items are correctly scanned&counted&the correct reason codes for discrepancies selected. Ensure that all stock is correctly bar coded. Ensure that correct procedures are adhered to on all high-risk items, high value&high shrinkage lines prior to moving stock to the sales floor. (Ref. 1101/2007FVN) Ensure that Yard receiving procedures are adhered to (Ref. 1101/2007FVN) Ensure that detail checking of stock received takes place and all discrepancies are investigated Ensure that detail checking documents are signed off and kept by security person in charge for recons Ensure that the Receiver hand all Makro documentation to vendor before exist, via dispatch areas Ensure that a POD is printed from the GRN file for all stock received before sending to the sales floor. Moving stock to the trading floor Ensure that PODs printed&that all stock is correctly bar coded before stock is moved to the sales floor. Liaise with sales managers&DMs regarding movement of stock to the trading area. Ensure that a POD is printed from the GRN file for all stock received before sending to the sales floor Enforce&maintain security procedures Ensure that stock is received and then pulled through to the waiting area Restrict movement of both store&delivery staff through the receiving area. Clear the waiting area as soon as possible so that the area is kept clean for the next supplier Ensure that detail checking parameters are maintained and updated on a monthly basis by the Receiving Manager in conjunction with the Stock Control Manager and the Risk Manager Control scanners Control all scanners as per the policy. Ensure that all scanners are accounted for&in working condition.
