Areas of Responsibility: 1. GL and trial balance maintenance 2. Financial reporting 3. Statutory compliance 4. Quarterly (FNB) and Year end audit 5. Budget (support) GL maintenance Ensure that the companies general ledgers and trial balances are accurate and up to date at all times Process month-end and year-end journal entries Reconcile balance sheet accounts and follow up on unreconciled items Financial reporting Drive the month-end and year-end close process Prepare month-end management accounts/ shareholder reports accurately and in accordance with required timelines Assist with commentary Address all queries raised by the FM/ management timeously and professionally Check completeness of income statement items Statutory Ensure that requirements with all statutory bodies are met VAT201 - Calculate, capture&submit to FM for review EMP201 – Complete return as per payroll reports, submit to FM for review&submit for payment Payroll Submit payroll information to Zuydum for monthly payroll: commissions, overtime and staff accounts Review payroll prepared by Zuydum for accuracy and completeness Prepare staff commissions and submit for review to Sales Manager Collate and review staff claims and submit to Managing Director for approval Posting of staff claims to the general ledger. Payments Check accuracy and completeness of payments submitted for approval Loading payments on FNB for local and import suppliers Loading banking transfers between petrol cards and various intercompany bank accounts Fixed Asset Register Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register Posting of Depreciation Intercompany Reconcile inter-company accounts between all group entities Process inter-company recoveries invoices Budgets Assist the FM in the preparation of the annual budget Prepare templates in set format and import to SAGE Audits Assist Auditors with necessary documents required to complete Audit Assist with the co-ordination of the audit and directing information requested to appropriate team members Leadership Day to day leadership and oversight of Debtors, Cash Book and Creditors Controllers Job Specifications BCom degree Articles will be advantageous Professional qualification (eg. SAIPA) will be advantageous 5+ years’ experience proven experience as an accountant Computer Literacy in MS Office, including advanced Excel skills Experience of managing a small team Knowledge of SAGE Evolution will be advantageous Knowledge of IFRS for SME, VAT, Income Tax Job Type: Full-time #J-18808-Ljbffr
