This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a smooth operation of all Transportation in HG Travelling Services. Provides general supervision of all transportation, drivers, and administrative staff on shift. Primary responsibility is to make sure that all scheduled employees are on the job at the start of the shift or at the scheduled dispatch time and that the operation is running smoothly and professionally at all times. This position involves the planning, directing, and coordination of all delivery and reporting activities and must keep the service delivery moving smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. Ensuring customer excellence, SLA compliance, Metrics, and KPIs are met. Duties and Responsibilities Direct and motivate team members working in the Control hub. Report any accidents or unsafe conditions to the relevant parties, such as senior management, c-track response, and clients. Be responsible for compliance and knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and other safety standards. Coordinate with Fleet department on vehicles available for scheduling. Maintain effective and timely scheduling of staff. Monitor&report on staff compliance with these schedules. Facilitate communication within the management team and between the control team and management. Provide training as needed to maintain an efficient and knowledgeable workforce. Be responsible for productivity metrics including but not limited to passenger load rates, routes, stops, and timely scheduling of all routes for “on-time” departures and arrivals in MIS. Interpret the Operations SOP and Company procedures to the control team. Provide departmental coverage and leadership and maintain a level of managerial professionalism at all times. Assist the CEO, Operational Director, Fleet Manager, and IT Manager with research and development of new techniques and procedures to increase the efficiency of any transportation operation. Preparing annual budgets and reports concerning the operation costs and present to Management Board Interacts with approved and authorised subcontractors and reports subcontracted work and costs for reconciliation and regular reviews by Operational Director&manager. Oversee that the scheduling of drivers hours is compliant with the statutory requirements set for the industry. And ensures all driver pdp ’s and licenses are controlled and up to date. Oversees the safety of his/her subordinates in the vehicles and areas of work Identifies areas of risk or improvement and proactively discusses such with the executive level. Monitoring transport costs and minimizing accidents and damages as a result of driver negligence Manage company culture, teamwork, accuracy, effective communication, productivity, and feedback. Minimum Requirements: Experience managing an operation and team Previous logistics experience relevant to the post and professionalism of 5+ years in managing in an operations environment Advanced Computer Skills – essential ( MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MIS, other systems ) Matric is a must, and further logistics qualification is a benefit.
