Health&Safety Officer – Northern Suburbs, Cape Town – Salary Dependent on Experience The Health&Safety Officer is the primary contact for all HSE matters. They ensure a safe working environment and compliance with OHS guidelines. Requirements: 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Health&Safety Officer Diploma/Certificate in occupational health and safety Knowledge and experience of OH&S management systems Experience in writing safety reports and policies Proficiency in MS Office Valid driver’s license required Up-to-date on relevant Health&Safety legislation, regulations and safety procedures Highly effective verbal and written communication skills Good interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders Key Responsibilities: Plan and implement OHS policies Advise and lead employees on safety topics Review and enforce policies and regulations Collaborate with HR on safety onboarding Document staff info, meeting minutes, and management reports. Prepare and present accident and violation reports, determining causes. Oversee workplace repairs, installations, and safety-sensitive work. Schedule and conduct on-site audits for improvement. Continuously assess risks on site. Provide OHS training, awareness, and induction on site. Engage with staff, contractors, and others on OHS matters. Maintain OHS statistical records on incidents, accidents, and working hours. Keep HSE registers updated, including permit renewals. Compile monthly site OHS reports. Take first-line responsibility for incident investigations. Monitor vendor/contractor performance and ensure suitability.
