The products of BAC South Africa are distributed across Sub-Saharan Africa.FunctionTo strengthen our South African team in Cape Town, we’re recruiting aPOSITION PURPOSE:The Engineering Manager leads the Engineering Team and manages the delivery of engineering support to the business from the initial quotation through to delivery to the customer. This includes, but is not limited to, technical support of existing and new products (internally and externally), technical support of the sales engineers and thermal certification.NATURE & SCOPE:The Engineering Manager will report to the Managing Director - Africa. The position will have major interactions with all levels of the global organization in all worldwide locations.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Developing short- and long-range planning, policies, programs, and objectivesEnsures that Engineering supports manufacturing, sales, and service operation in meeting their operational requirementsDirect and monitor engineering to ensure that engineering goals are metDirect and coordinate ongoing development and technical support (internally and externally) of existing BAC products as well as the development, introduction, and implementation of new productsProvide customer support as needed - at pre and post sales stagesEnsure drawing office delivers on time and accurate drawings and bills of materialsDevelopment and ongoing support of the BAC Africa websiteLeading the team by ensuring performance expectations, goals, and objectives are understood and met and that restorative actions are taken as requiredProviding development opportunities and guidance taking into consideration the current and future needs of the organisationPrepare reporting as required locally and globally to show progress and performance to planDevelop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that reflect the performance and enable continuous improvementPrepare budgets to meet operational goals and provide for effective management of resourcesProfileKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Possess a solid working knowledge of heat transfer technologies, along with their theoretical and practical application. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing/sales/product engineering operation is required. The Engineering Manager works with a great degree of independence in providing the engineering support of the BAC products and services.A four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
