Are you a Payroll Specialist who is ready for career growth to use your expertise with numbers and high-volume data to manage the full function of payroll for our modern well-established client based in Cape Town CBD?Excellent communication skills, high level of confidentiality and integrity is required to ensure accurate and timeous processing of all payroll-related payments to employees and corporate institutions.Responsibilities include calculating salaries, updating payroll systems and preparing internal and external tax reports, and conducting internal audits. REQUIREMENTS Matric, Certificate in Payroll management High level of proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel, but also Word for mail merges) Certified Payroll Administrator Practitioner or Certified Payroll Practitioner advantageous Minimum 3-5 years’ work experience in a relevant position Proficiency in payroll software Experience with accounting software (Sage X3 advantageous) and preparation of payroll reconciliations Extensive knowledge of South African Labour and Tax Laws Experience with loading payments on banking platforms Ability to works well under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Attention to detail DUTIES Manage all aspects relating to payroll, from inception, with deductions and tax considerations, up to reparation of the payroll import files for the bank and tax payment files for SARS Ensure payroll taxes and deductions are correctly calculated and paid on time for both monthly and semi-annual reconciliations Prepare input documentation for external payroll maintenance company Processing any payroll changes as communicated by Human Capital such as new hires, terminations, increases, reimbursements, changes, and deductions etc. Review payroll reports generated from payroll software by the external payroll maintenance company Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions relating to the external financial audit as well as any SARS enquiries Preparations of quarterly payroll reconciliations and recommendation of payroll journals to the Senior Accountants for processing in the accounting software package Submission and reconciliation of Workman’s Compensation notices and ensuring that payments are made within deadlines Ensure that a valid Letter of Good Standing is always in place for the relevant entities in South Africa Indirect reporting line to the Head of Human Capital for all leave activities and any other payroll enquiries Attending to payroll enquiries from employees in consultation with Head of Human Capital and Change Management Responsible for exploring potential deductions for the company with regard to Skills Development spend Monthly monitoring and reporting on all employee leave, including: Sick leave – identifying patterns and risk areas Study leave being correctly managed Leave-in-lieu being awarded Expiry of leave Reconciliation of leave between the various attendance systems Monitoring timesheet submission and ensuring all timesheets are submitted Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience Join us on SOCIAL MEDIA or visit our WEBSITE for more information.
