The incumbent will be expected to work with directors, as well as independently, andwith clients, counsel, correspondent attorneys and other teams. The candidate must be highlyefficient, career driven and adept in working in a collegial but high-performance environment. Therole involves managing all elements of the various dispute resolution processes, as part of a globallaw firm.Duties & Responsibilities• Consult with clients and counsel• Draft legal opinions, pleadings and correspondence• Manage work to support optimal utilisation• Assist senior lawyers as required, acting as lead lawyer, where appropriate• Offer high quality legal advice to clients• Comply with risk requirements, firm policies and all relevant professional responsibilities and legislation• Delegate and provide feedback to juniors and communicate progress on tasks to supervisor and team members, consulting and offering solutions on difficult technical client issues• Manage, develop and strengthen client relationships through anticipating client needs and expectations; and provide prompt responses and updates on progress.• Brief counsel and keep counsel up to date• Support the firm and others in establishing effective relationships with individuals and groups, across the global network• Uphold the firm’s values• Prepare cases for hearings, trial or arbitration• Maintaining the confidentiality of legal documents and client records• Assisting individual clients through the asylum process and representing clients before the relevant review and appeal bodies• Litigating in civil courts, tribunals and arbitration• Contribute to the firm’s initiatives (e.g. corporate social responsibility and diversity and inclusion activities)Desired Experience & Qualification• Admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa• 2-3 years PQE in Constitutional and Human Rights Litigation / Dispute Resolution• Good understanding of the pro bono landscape: key drivers for efficiency, relevant role players and client costs and expectations• Solid knowledge of chosen area of law and industry sector(s)• Strong legal skills, including drafting, negotiation, and project management skills; foundation level people management and business development skillsPackage & RemunerationMarket Related.Interested?Apply onlineContact: 011 803 9465Brought to you by AGC Legal Recruitment These jobs were popular with other job seekers#J-18808-Ljbffr
