Line Leader (Aviation Engineering) – Somerset West. A renowned Aviation Engineering company is looking for a ‘Line Leader’ to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in the Helderberg Area, Cape Town. About the job: To support the team and ensure their teams are equipped with manpower, tools, PPE/PPC, technical training, motivation and a daily/weekly target to do the work according to customer requirements (quality, cost and lead time). Manage, communicate and reward performance and escalate and investigate any deviation using problem solving tools according to company procedure&world class Standards Position Requirements: Education: Minimum Grade 12 NQF4-6 Leadership certificate an advantage At least 5 years relevant work experience in composite or leadership role. Basic Microsoft Office knowledge SAP knowledge to processing will be an advantage Must be able to lead and manage a team SAP, delegating, waste reduction, ergonomics, HSE policies and procedures Manufacturing Principles and of composites, production planning Aerospace quality standards (AS9100), manufacturing systems, material control Problem solving, work standards&customer requirements Root cause analysis (Problem Solving), set goals, organise, deliver on time Understanding&reading technical drawings, technical tools, planning Human Factor (Behaviour), people skills, takt driven output Good&professional communicating skills Result driven, goal setter, increase targets through improvements, work under pressure, work overtime Organising plans, highlight risk/ deviations, proactive thinking, willing to learn and train others Work shifts and flexible on prolonged hours Moving equipment around and working in factory noise levels, dust, ovens Stand for prolonged hours and work under pressure to meet output demands Key Responsibilities: Quality of Work: Ensure that all current work standards are available, current, and followed. Ensure targets are achieved by teams, and quality requirements are maintained. Identify process deviations and corrections and implement improvements. Adherence to Standards (Safety, build specs): Conduct start-up meetings and end-of-shift meetings to reinforce safety and build spec standards. Ensure correct PPE standards and health and safety regulations are adhered to by all team members. Conduct HSE Risk Assessments and 5S Audits. Do shift hand over and walkabout before start of every shift. Ensure routing labels are completed and correct. Team Unity: Conduct shift handovers and walkabouts to foster communication and team spirit. Encourage feedback and inputs to enhance team performance, motivation, and communication. Resolve line stops, production delays, and support service issues promptly to maintain team morale. Have daily feedback meetings with internal customer to ensure requirements are on track and attend Obeya meetings. Effective Resources Management: Assist with manpower allocation plans and communicate capacity per project/priority. Organise the workplace, ensuring tools, molds, jigging, consumables, and hardware are available for efficient shift start-ups. Monitor and address timekeeping, absenteeism, and skill balance within teams. Manage resources within budget limits, including tools, consumables, and overtime. Update all training documentation. Review technical training plan to ensure skill- levels and depth are balanced. Keep training Matrixes and records updated and oversee training processes. Ensure updated records are handed in at HR. Conduct counselling and disciplinary processes according to the AAT standard policies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
