Our Client a Global Tech firm is seeking 2 Network Engineers L3 to join their team in Dunkeld West on a contract basis for 2 year. They offer stability, growth, attractive rates and a great working environment.The Network engineers will be responsible for supporting roughly 2,500 locations and around 10,000 devices (AP's, Switches, Routers) - all Fortigate.A Network Engineer is a seasoned technical professional responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimising network infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure communication. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support networking needs. This role plays a critical role in ensuring network reliability, performance, and security.Key Roles and Responsibilities:Designs and plans network solutions, including LAN, WAN, data centre, and cloud networksDevelops network architectures that meet the organisation's current and future requirementsConfigures, deploys, and manages network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllersImplements and maintains network services and protocolsImplements and enforces network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, access controls, and VPNsMonitors network traffic for security threats and vulnerabilitiesDiagnoses and resolves complex network issues, utilising advanced troubleshooting techniques and network monitoring toolsAnalyses network performance data to identify and address bottlenecks and irregularitiesOptimises network performance by analysing traffic patterns, adjusting configurations, and implementing quality of service (QoS) measuresCreates and maintains comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident reportsCollaborates with cross-functional teams, including systems administrators, security teams, application developers, and business stakeholdersCommunicates technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiencesManages/participates in network-related projects, including network upgrades, migrations, and expansionsDevelops project plans, define objectives, and ensure successful project executionStays updated with emerging networking technologies and industry trendEvaluates and recommends new tools, technologies, and solutions that enhance the organisation's network capabilitiesWorks with vendors to evaluate, procure, and manage networking equipment, services, and support contractsUtilise network monitoring and analysis tools to proactively monitor network health, identify issues, and respond to incidentsEstimate network capacity requirements and plan for scalability to accommodate business growth and changing needs Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, architectures, and servicesProficiency in configuring and managing network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllersIn-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and security protocolsHands-on experience with network monitoring and analysis toolsStrong documentation and communication skills to convey technical information effectivelyProficient in network administration and configuration toolsAnalytical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issuesStrong project management skills to lead and contribute to network projectsFamiliarity with network security principles and best practices Academic Qualifications and Certifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related fieldRelevant cloud provider Network Administration certification (Azure, Google, Amazon)Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) are beneficialRelevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA), or equivalent certifications are preferred Required Experience:Seasoned relevant experience in network engineering or a related roleSeasoned experience working in a networking environmentSeasoned experience with network securitySeasoned WAN and LAN experienceSeasoned experience in wireless equipment, protocols, standards, and wireless LAN designSeasoned experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.)Skills SummaryNetwork Design, Networking Solutions, Network Maintenance, Network Monitoring, Network Security, Network Troubleshooting
