Senior Processing Officer, D2 Internal&External Ref no: NVC052/24GS Closing date: 07 June 2024 The role: The role is responsible for the control and management of the production process to ensure that production targets and qualities are achieved. Ensure that department complies to all relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Management of production on the coal floor ensuring supervising of production personnel and overseeing those jobs are done properly as well as control and coordination of all process contractors onsite Coordinate maintenance of plant machinery in support of production targets through the development of plant maintenance plans with the plant manager and section engineer as well as ensure that all process mobile machinery is maintained as per schedule Ensure that legal requirements, codes of practices, group standards, procedures and policies are updated, implemented, adhered to and that changes to legal requirements are communicated Effective People management, ensuring that roles are well defined and clarified and that competencies and learning paths are developed to human capacity and capability Liaison with Engineering department for maintenance Liaison with plant manager for quality control requirements Running of DMS Plant Contractor management Coal accounting Draw up and manage Plant operations budget Requirements: BSc Metallurgy / BSc / Honors / B-Tech / B-Tech Honors Chemical Engineering / Mineral Processing 5 Years experience in plant processing with a minimum of 3 years as a Metallurgical Engineer and/or Plant Supervisor A good knowledge of legislation relating to the mining industry e.g. Mine Health and Safety Act In depth knowledge of coal processing methodologies Knowledge of the risk assessment process and practices Aware of best practices and new technologies An understanding of the coal production process and stockpile management Valid driver’s license In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness Advantageous: Safety&Risk Management Course (S2, S3) Management Development Programme or equivalent Membership/registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa Membership of the South African Coal Processing Society Coaching&Mentoring ORMP, Supervisory Development Sound knowledge of Seriti’s Processing Codes of Practices, policies and procedures Good knowledge of Seriti’s Safety and Sustainable development policies, procedures and standards Please note: Candidates can apply by going to https://seritiza.com/ and click on the ‘Careers’ tab A CV with certified copies (certification within a 3-month period) of relevant qualifications, together with ID document&valid driver’s license must be accompanied with your application Appointments will be made in line with Employment Equity targets All applicants are thanked for their interest Applications which have not been responded to within 30 days of closing date should be regarded as unsuccessful Communication will be with shortlisted candidates only #J-18808-Ljbffr
