THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDES Identify new potential short-term insurance brokers and opportunities for growth. Develop, manage, and maintain long-term relationships with brokers. Initiate and manage marketing activities to promote the Safire brand within the community, and to secure new business. Drive sustainable business growth and profitability to reach and exceed sales targets. Keep up to date with competitor products, service offerings and industry developments. Provide detailed product training and ongoing product support to brokers. Build relationships with internal departments to ensure excellent service is offered to the brokers. Attend to queries and provide information on a range of sales and service matters. Analyse broker performance periodically, and manage a portfolio of business through analysis, interpretation, and decision making. Design monthly work schedule and travel extensively in your allocated area to visit brokers and achieve performance goals. THE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR Matric / Grade 12 is a min. requirement. A Bachelor’s degree or national diploma in relevant field (advantageous). Min 5 years’ experience in short-term insurance – both domestic and commercial insurance. Proven track record of working with brokers and achieving growth and sales/profitability targets. Registered with FSCA as a Representative and completion of RE5. Full qualification in short-term insurance (advantageous). Adherence to the FSCA Fit and Proper requirements. THE COMPETENCIES WE REQUIRE ARE Strong influencing, negotiating, and selling skills. Excellent interpersonal communication, assertiveness, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in self-leadership, analysis, judgement, problem-solving, collaboration and business logic Proficiency in the MS Office Suite with excellent Outlook, Excel, and Word skills. Technically proficient with product knowledge relevant to the type of insurance being offered. THE TYPE OF PERSONALITY THAT WILL EXCEL IN OUR TEAM Well-spoken and presentable. Excellent ability to build strong, long-term relationships with diverse stakeholders. Passionate about achieving results, growing the business, and meeting or exceeding sales targets. Works meticulously with a very high attention to detail. Highly organised, a strong ability to prioritise and deliver work on time, and to the highest standard. A strong can-do attitude and an energetic positive approach. We are looking for Broker Consultants in the following regions: KZN, Free State, Northwest, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
