As a Concession Field Assistant at our prestigious 5-star game lodge, you will be responsible for supporting various aspects of the lodge's operations within the concession area. The field assistant provides a service to the lodge/s, which is in effect is the department's "customer". The field assistant is fully responsible for assisting the Concession Manager/ and or Head Guide on the concession. This position will report to the Concession Manager. The main purpose of the Concession Field Assistant is to ensure detection and reporting of any potential security incursions, and the upkeep of the environment. Land Cruiser, first aid kit, and related equipment are to be well-maintained and always cared for, in line with the required company standards. Finally, the field assistant needs to ensure that there is effective communication with the Concession Manager in terms of the concession requirements.Requirements:Chainsaw and brush cutter operationTracking abilities: Track & Signs qualification, basic tailing qualification and man tracking qualificationAbility to use compass/GPS to accurately report in direction of shots heard/firedAn ability to communicate on the radioAn understanding and experience in fighting wildland fireA basic knowledge of water pumps and pipesKnowledge and experience with fencing, specifically electric fencingAn ability to recognise and report problem animals to Concession Manager and/or Head GuideKnowledge of basic maintenanceAbility to drive and operate a tractor and all its attachmentsPrevious experience in a similar role within the hospitality or safari industry preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.First aid certification and valid driver's license required.Commitment to conservation principles and sustainable tourism practices.Willingness to work irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and situations.A positive attitude and a genuine passion for wildlife and the African bush.#J-18808-Ljbffr
