Vacancy– Free State Job Title: Project Manager Roads Posting Date: 26 April 2024 Posting Expiry Date: 26 April 2024 Purpose: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager/Site Agent to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the construction and maintenance of a roads project, and completing the project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Requirements: 10-15 years of experience as a Construction Manager/Site Agent in road construction and road rehabilitation (mandatory); Bachelor's degree or B-tech in Construction Management, Civil Engineering (Professional Registration with SACPCMP will be beneficial); Well acquainted with MS Projects (Training Certificates will be beneficial); Strong knowledge and understanding of road construction processes, methods, and materials; Proven experience in managing and delivering road construction projects on time and within budget (mandatory with contactable references); Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team; Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering successful outcomes; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders; Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines; Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as needed; Be competent in managing and controlling the team. Duties: Coordinate and manage road construction, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting. Supervise and direct all construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with construction plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Monitor and control project progress, adjusting as necessary to ensure timely completion. Create, monitor, manage and update the baseline construction Schedule on MS Projects Coordinate and communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Manage and control project budgets, including reviewing and approving project-related expenditures. Oversee the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet project requirements. Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve any issues or potential risks that may impact the project timeline. Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant health and safety standards and regulations! Prepare and submit project progress reports to management and clients, highlighting key milestones and achievements. Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders. Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
