Job Purpose: The Finance Manager will have experience in financial management, accounting, and the financial/insurance sector. The role involves overseeing financial activities like budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and risk management. It's a leadership position demanding both technical know-how and strong leadership abilities. Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management Develop and implement financial policies and procedures Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP or IFRS Analyse financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks Maintain strong relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in financial management Additional Desired Skills: Experience with budgeting and forecasting within the insurance industry Knowledge of risk management principles and practices Strong understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the financial and insurance industry Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Qualification and Experience: CA (SA) Qualified (Essential) Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as Accounting or Finance Completion of articles with a recognised professional accounting body (SAICA, SAIPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable Minimum of 8 years' experience in a financial management role, with at least 3 years of experience within the financial and insurance industry (Essential) Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial role Proven track record of success in financial planning, analysis, and reporting Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders Experience with financial modeling and forecasting Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage) Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Salary: (Depending on experience) Should you wish to apply for the position, please apply directly via this job board, please ensure that you quote reference number 202657 subject heading or email body.
