Job Description: Responsible for the strategic management of EMS Chief Directorate with all its components. Implementation and management of the Province’s Strategic Plan for Emergency Medical Services that deals with Pre-hospital Care including medical rescue [ads1] Job Responsibilities: Responsible for monitoring and improving response times to incidents. Disaster Management focal person for the Department, Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) management. Management and co-ordination of all planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and logistics for EMS in the province. Development, implementation and monitoring of a framework for norms and standards, policies and Clinical Practice Guidelines in EMS including standardization of emergency centers and implementation of policies Integration of EMS with all healthcare institutions of the province, Special Operations, Planned Patient Transport, Inter-Facility Transfers including Mobile Intensive Care Services, Emergency Communication Centre, and Emergency Care Education and Training, Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences/ B Tech in Emergency Medical Care OR Management Sciences qualification at NQF Level 7 as recognized by SAQA plus ANT Paramedic qualification. Strategic capability and leadership. Client orientation. Financial management. People leadership and management. Problem solving. Policy analysis and development. A postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) will be an added advantage. Project Management. Proof of current registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner (MBCHB or equivalent) or as Advanced Life Support Paramedic. Report writing A minimum of 5 years’ applicable experience in EMS sphere at a Senior Management Level either in the public or private sector. Change management. Solid written and spoken communication skills.
