Applications are invited for the following permanent position commencing in January2025.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSApplicants should :hold a Bachelor of Education and/or Post Graduate Certificate in Educationbe registered with SACEbe a practising Catholicbe fully qualified to teach Religious Education (Grades 8 to 12)have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar teaching positionunderstand current best practices in Religious Education, specifically in line with theCatholic Schools OfficeREQUIRED COMPETENCIESSuitable candidates should:have a full knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic Churchknow, serve and live in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic faithhave a knowledge of the Catholic philosophy of educationbe able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formpromote and support the Catholic ethos of the schoolcommit to the school’s transformation, equity and belonging strategic objectives insupport of an equitable, inclusive and safe school environment for allMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESThe successful candidate will be required to:support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of theschoolplan, implement and supervise the religious education programme for Grades 8 to12 following the goals, policies, procedures, philosophy and curriculum of the schoolwork in collaboration with the other religion teachers and the chaplain for thedevelopment and implementation of the school’s religious activitiesstrive to achieve the goals of Catholic educationpromote Catholic values and uphold the standards of the Catholic Churchbe able to work well with other schools and churches in the communityact as a witness to the Gospel values by modelling the teachings of the Marist Ethoshelp build the school’s faith community by a demonstrated willingness to participatein, and plan, school religious and service activitiesremain abreast of developments and best practices in teachingInterested, suitably qualified applicants are to submit an updated Curriculum Vitae andmotivation letter to the email address below.
