Our client in the Limpopo province is looking for a Junior Farm Manager in Citrus Picking on a contract basis. The successful candidate must have the following: NQF 6 Diploma in Agricultural ManagementNQF 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.Drivers License Experience:Must have at least 2 years Farming ExperienceExperience in assets and logistics management within a FMCG manufacturing and production environment would be an advantage.Experience in Management or Supervisory capacity.Thorough knowledge of picking preparation, management, and final execution of picking.Must be able to demonstrate picking productivity management.Understanding the application of Crop protection chemicals.Experience in fleet management. Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlan, direct, control and coordinate the Picking and Spray Operations in an effective and efficient manner. Responsibilities:To ensure that the farming unit remains sustainable and that production goals in terms of tonnage and pack out are achieved.To create a culture of continuous improved productivity and excellence, in order to achieve expectations, neutralising rising cost and ensuring sustainability of the farming unit by monitoring daily the following areas:Crop Protection, picking.Monitor daily activities such as chemical application, harvesting practices, and to ensure adherence to safety regulations or standards (e.g. export standards, GlobalGAP and SIZA).Ensure optimisation of fleet Utilisation at Picking and Spray. JOB VACANCY JUNIOR FARMER (Picking & Spray)Ensure optimisation of chemical applications according to the scheduled program. Ensure the right quantity is given at the right time.Ensure the effective and efficient management of Picking and Spray Teams.Plan crop and picking activities based on factors such as crop maturity or weather conditions.Maintain financial, operational, production and employment records and ensure its traceability.Manage the planning of picking harvest and the picking harvest process and goals optimal with regard to areas such as harvest estimates, productivity, cost, quality and logistics relating to your specific farm.Increase productivity levels of farm workers with regard to quality, speed, cost and morale (e.g. set goals and standards, encourage innovation and use of technology, organise work, network and collaborate, measure performance, build positive relationships and work environment, invest in people skills, communicate effectively and efficiently, use gamification techniques etc).Submit and report progress versus objectives as and when required to the Logistics Manager.To manage the day-to-day administration effectively and efficiently on the farmManage and coordinate the activities of all employees daily. Key Performance areas:To oversee the effective and efficient operational management of Picking and Spray OperationsTo ensure the effective and efficient management of pickers and picking contractors.To manage and coordinate the activities of all picking and spray employees on a daily basis.To Induction of new Pickers.To manage and lead people effectively.To ensure sound financial management.To ensure professional and effective service delivery to customers.To oversee that the Department complies with the quality management system.
