We have a position available for a Accountant (Group Finance) who will be responsible for financial reporting and monitoring of control environments. This position is located in Klerksdorp. To qualify for this position a candidate requires: Completed SAICA articles. At least three years accounting experience. Candidates with SAP knowledge will receive preference. BCom Accounting degree. The duties expected of the successful applicant are as follows but not limited to: Prepare and manage forecasts&budgets. Gather historic financial information. Apply expected financial and economic indicators on historical and new information. Incorporate all changes to current business model and structure. Prepare budget (annually) and forecasts (quarterly). Prepare final budget and forecasts for management. Financial and operational reporting/authorization. Generate financial reports on SAP and distribute to the relevant key receivers. Scrutinize expenses for incorrect GL and cost allocations and identify, investigate and report variances to budget. Prepare and review monthly balance sheet recons. Compile tax pack and distribute to tax accountant. Compile audit report. Analyze top expense and benchmark with other companies in the same industries. Provide necessary information to auditors and assist in relevant enquiries. Corporate control. Test and prepare transactions against policies/budgets, delegation of duties. Identify deviations to policies&procedures and implement improved control environment. Ensure proper reconciliation and review of balance sheet accounts&certain income statement accounts. Investigate, explain or intervene in budget variances. Reconciliation of reports to operating systems. Test the correct accounting treatment of new business processes. Evaluate financial performance of project against business case presented. Administration of fixed assets. Preparation and capture of acquisitions and disposal of assets. Comply to IFRS (IAS16) standards regarding the accounting of fixed assets according to the standard. Annual review of residual value and useful life. Maintain and update fixed asset register. Reconcile GL with asset register. Depreciation runs. Basic Salary on offer ranges from R 30000.00 to R 40000.00 with benefits to be discussed.
