My client based in the Northern Suburbs is seeking an Accountant to join their team and become part of their successful business reporting into the Financial Manager. This team has worked together for over 9 years so if you are serious about long term commitment in a family type environment, this role is for you!!!Responsibilties:Recording financial transactions, including invoices, journals, receipts, and paymentsCreate invoices for and send to customersGuarantee the accuracy of invoices with reference to quantities, quality, fuel grade description and pricing structureVerify the appropriate currency for invoicing (Foreign currency applicable - USD, ZAR, EUR mainly used)Examine purchase orders and delivery receiptsApply selected tariffs and taxes as necessaryMaintain orderly records of all invoicesUpload invoices to relevant systems for approval submissionCoordinate with the Commercial Team regarding invoice and billing inquiries or discrepanciesValidate client orders upon receiptProcess orders for invoicing both for suppliers and clients on ERP systemsProcessing bank and cash entries on a daily basis, and reconcile bank statements ensuring data accuracy Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accounting systemReconciling staff expense reports for monthly reportingReviewing the information provided by staff (receipts, invoices, etc) are accurate, tax compliant and up-to-date in the software (SAP Concur) Processing the expense report journals in the accounting system (DBC) Regularly maintaining the Fixed assets register of the company Recording of purchases, assessing FAR for regular useful life, monthly processing of depreciationRecording of disposals Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the accounting system, for internal use and external insurance reporting. Managing and maintaining the sales ledger and ensuring timely payment of debtors Taking prompt action on overdue debts by chasing client and maintaining regular contact until payment is received in full.Run weekly update reports on all aged debt and distribute to sales team Escalating potential bad debt accounts to management Proactively investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and disputesIssuing monthly client statementsSupporting management accounts, accruals, cost schedules, and balance sheet reconcilliationsParticipating in meetings related to financial reporting\Assist with opening company bank accounts and staff credit card applicationsMaintaining and updating company information with banks Ensure statutory compliance with government agenciesLiaise with group legal department on various matters pertaining to the companyAssist in drafting company letters, resolutions, etcRequirements:BCom and SAIPA Articles (advantageous)Please note if you have not heard from us in 2 weeks from application, please consider yourself unsuccessful - please do continue to follow us online and apply for suitable roles.
